Adaptation théatrale de Quadrophenia 2009

Après la version Broadway de "Tommy", voici maintenant qu'une version théatrale de "Quadrophenia" va voir le jour en 2009. Mais bon, inutile de préciser pour les intéressés que c'est "UK only".

An explosive new stage adaptation of The Who's legendary double album Quadrophenia, considered by many to be composer Pete Townshend's finest work, is making its way to the UK in 2009!

Premiering at the Plymouth Playhouse on Saturday, May 9th, the show will then visit Birmingham, Manchester, Sunderland and Liverpool through the summer.

Released by The Who in 1973, Quadrophenia was a soaring success as Pete Townshend's second major rock opera following Tommy in 1969.

Set in London & Brighton at the height of the 1960s Mod scene, Quadrophenia is told through the eyes of Jimmy, a hedonistic style conscious teenager who hates his job, is misunderstood by his parents and lives for his music and to be with his scooter riding Mod clique.

With the production keeping true to Townshend's original concept, Quadrophenia is on target to be one of the hottest productions of 2009!
